Chloe's song

Chloe surprised me by writing lyrics to her own song today. She plopped
down with a pen and notebook and started writing. She would stop and
look back and sing the words to herself, and then continue on. Here are
the lyrics she wrote:
going out
into the stars
well I am going to the mess
but it's to hard
and I'm not giving up
so there
it's not that hard but
I'm doing it
Oh yeah yeah
so go for it
out on the deck sing
everyday
come on now let's
do our thing
todayyyyyyyyyy

When she sang the song, she held the note on todayyyy for a long time
The crazy part is that she actually had a tune that she stayed
consistent with when she would write the lyrics. I am saving it so that
when she becomes a rock star we can have her first song :)

Chloe's funnies

Chloe has said a couple of funny things this week. Greg was singing
some song he was making up about poop and toots (don't ask!) and the
girls were saying how grossed out they were when Chloe proclaimed,
"Daddy, I am going to email Santa and tell him what you are doing!" We
all had a little chuckle at that one and shouldn't have been surprised
when Chloe marched over to the computer and actually began composing an
email to Santa! She wasn't even deterred when I explained that Santa
doesn't really check his email in the spring because that is his rest time.

Grammy was babysitting last night. She had just tucked the girls in for
bed when she heard a voice calling, "Grammy!" Thinking it was Paige,
she peeked her head in her room only to realize it was Chloe calling for
her. She closed Paige's door (which of course brought Paige out of her
bed) and went to Chloe's room to see what Chloe wanted. Paige came out
of her room and asked, "What did you do that for? (referring to opening
her door). Grammy explained that she thought that Paige had been
calling when really it was Chloe. Chloe then explained, "Grammy, it was
me you heard, you can tell be cause my voice is sweeter." Grammy began
to chuckle a little and Chloe reassured her, "No really, it is sweeter!"

The girls love to play a game they call "Pigeon peck" In this game,
they are all pigeons and Grammy is the mean pigeon that they are trying
to peck away. (This game is usually only played with Grammy because I
can't tolerate all the squawking!) Last night the game took a twist.
Grammy was now the mean pigeon who was trying to "poop" on the nice
girls' driveway. Grammy got a few white socks and would pretend to
"poop" on their driveway and the girls would scare her away. After a
particularly big meal, she even pooped out an entire blanket!

Amazing Grace

Somehow we got on the subject of the song Amazing Grace at dinner with
the grandparents on Sunday. Chloe was curious about the song and
Grandma began to explain the words to her. She said something to the
effect of, "I once was a wretch and now I am found." to which Chloe
replied, "So Grandma, you were a wretch?"

holy matrimony

We were listening to a Seal CD (recording artist Seal--not the animal)
when Paige proclaimed that she was thinking about marrying Seal. I let
her know that he was already married and she exclaimed, "What!!!! When
did he do that?" I explained he married a few years ago to which she
replied, "But how did he get married!?!" I explained that he had a
regular wedding to which she responded in her most disgusted voice,
"Well I'm not going to marry him then!"--watch out Heidi Klum.

That same week we were in the grocery store. Paige had on a
particularly fancy sparkly dress and she was pushing around her little
Fischer Price shopping cart. We came to the produce aisle, and in an
effort to get her to eat more vegetables, I told her to choose out a
vegetable she was most excited about. She approached the broccoli and
picked up a head. The then proceeded to tell me, "It looks like a
bouquet...like what brides use." I then began to hum the wedding march
and instinctively she lowered the bouquet to the correct position and
began doing the wedding step together, step together down the produce
aisle. It was a lovely wedding :)

mirror mirror

After a recent haircut, Paige has been going around looking at herself
in the mirror and exclaiming, "Mirror, mirror on the wall, who's the
diva of them all?"
