the tooth fairy

Chloe lost her first tooth this weekend. This has been a very long
awaited moment for her. It had been holding on by a thread for about a
week now, and she finally just pulled it out. She was a little stunned
by the blood that followed, but was so excited that her tooth had
finally come out! (evidentially she was one of the few in her
Kindergarten class who had not lost a tooth yet and therefore had not
been added to the hallowed "tooth chart") Chloe promptly began asking
all sorts of questions about the tooth fairy and how she would get in to
her room that night. She had it narrowed down to two explanations: 1.
The tooth fairy must enter the front door, or 2. The tooth fairy would
come in her bedroom window. She wanted to make sure she had all her
bases covered, and so she began making signs for the tooth fairy to
follow to find her tooth. The one on the front door said the
following: Dear Tooth Fairy, I lost a tooth. My room is straight, turn
right, second door down. It is near my slide. From Chloe. She then
drew a diagram of her mouth with her teeth and a missing space with an
arrow pointing to the space. The arrow was labeled I lost this one.
She also put another sign in her bedroom that said: My tooth is down
here. Please leave it. She then taped the sign to her loft bed and
positioned it so the downward pointing arrow was dead center above her
tooth. When those projects were finished, she began to think about what
the tooth fairy might leave for her. She contemplated adding the line,
"Please leave me some stuff but don't take my tooth." to a sign, but
opted not to do so. When asked what the tooth fairy would leave for
her, she responded, "Well the tooth fairy needs to visit a lot of kids,
so she will probably only leave about four pennies." (by the way, she
got $5.00 and a wonderful letter written in glitter glue) She also
claims to have seen a yellow light in her room that she thinks may have
been the tooth fairy. I couldn't tell her one way or another if it
was--after all, I have never seen her :)
