ah yes, the potty

Our experiences with Paige's potty training have opened a whole world of
fun at our house. There is of course, the running down the long hall
passing by two bathrooms with pee streaming down her legs to get to the
little training potty by our front door. Or who could forget her
wetting her pants at her sister's soccer practice because, "But mommy, I
am going pee on the grass!"
Our potty training has much improved since she began. Last night she
was on the toilet waiting for her body to finish "my business," when I
told her that I needed to go potty too. I went to the bathroom next to
hers, and a few moments hear her yell, "Mommy, when you are finished let
me know so I can come and wipe you!" I let her know I could handle that
myself, but thanked her for the offer :)

We have also had an increase in the potty humor, no doubt sparked from
the whole potty training process. The girls were in the tub last night
making "soup" in the tub. Their imaginary ingredients consisted of
poop, pee, guts, boogars, etc. Chloe had just finished a particularly
gruesome combination when Paige announced that she was making soup too,
"It has poop, pee, and garlic."

Ah yes....Paige

It has been some time since my last blog. Paige continues to become
increasingly more of a challenge as she matures. As her sister before,
she has quite the vocabulary and is very independent. Here are a few of
the funny things she has said recently:

One day we sat down to dinner and Paige turned to me and said, "Mommy
this dinner is a mess! Point one, this spaghetti is a mess. Point two,
this plate is a mess. Point two, it is just a mess."--yes she is just
two years old.

At our house, we have been excited to see the movie High School
Musical. Chloe has heard so much about it from kids at school, that we
decided to check it out from the library and view it for ourselves (the
copy we got was damaged...but that is beside the point). Paige, very
excited about this new movie, goes around the house talking about
"Hosicle the musical."

Yesterday Paige was climbing on a chair she wasn't supposed to. She was
asked to get down and when she ignored us completely (nothing new around
here lately) Greg began to count her for a time out. The minute he
began counting, she turned to him, pursed her lips, and said, "Oh be
quiet Greg."--nice

And we can't forget Chloe. Since Kindergarten started, she has matured
so quickly. She is really loving school. I had the opportunity to
volunteer in her classroom one day when they had some presenters from
the Phoenix Zoo doing a presentation on the rainforest. They began
their presentation by asking what the kids knew about the top of the
rainforest. Chloe quickly raised her hand, and let them know that it is
called "the emergent layer." The two presenters looked at each other in
amazement, and exclaimed, "Ok, so that is where this presentation is
starting." She later had to explain to me what the emergent layer
was!--what a smartie!
