just another day

Paige was hanging out in the bathroom with me and was bumping the door
so it would hit the door stop making a thuddddddd sound. She was
enjoying this sound it made and then looked at me like a light bulb had
gone off and she said, "Thunder"--it sounded like thunder (a sound she
has only heard once before).

We were enjoying a few corn chips with lunch today when Paige picked one
up that was shaped like a triangle and proclaimed that it was indeed a
triangle--not bad for 17 months.

Whenever we are looking for something that is lost and we ask Paige if
she knows where it is, she tells us, "Playroom."

Today Paige kept asking to do a tea party. Chloe suggested that we do a
"uterus" party instead. Stifling my laughter, I asked her what happens
at a uterus party and received the following explanation:
"Everybody goes to the hospital to get their mom's old uterus and then
we bring them and show them." I have no idea where she got that one!

Wold Cup tidbit

Chloe and I were sitting together and watching the thrilling end of the exciting Italy v. Germany world cup semifinal. Italy had just scored 2 goals toward the end of the 2nd half of overtime and the German team and fans were devastated.

Chloe looked at the Germans and turned to me and asked "Daddy, why are the German's crying?" I was a bit taken back by her quesiton since I hadn't noticed that anyone was crying, and wasn't sure that she was actually watching. Being the compassionate person I am I calmly explained that the German team had just lost the game and that they were very sad because of that.

Chloe turned to me and said "When I play soccer in the fall, if my team wins the last game, I will be happy and I will jump around." Then I asked her what would happen if her team lost. Her immediate response was "If my team loses the last game, I won't cry."

A few words of wisdom from my baby.
