Paige's cleanliness

Paige has become very interested in when things are clean or dirty. She
takes every opportunity to point out a "mess" (usually she has created
it herself) and with the recent dust storms, there are pockets of dirt
outside everywhere that she runs to label as "dirty." Yesterday while
driving home she was looking at a book and she kept saying, "Dirty."
When I finally took a look at what she was evaluating, I realized that
she was referring to a picture of a dalmatian. She thought the spots on
the Dalmatian were dirty areas.

Chloe's vocabulary

Chloe was throwing a fit today because I wouldn't let her play in her
velvet Christmas dress. She developed a fairly elaborate story about
her needing to go to a party that her friend would be attending. I was
told that this was the last time to see her (pretend) friend because she
was moving to Australia and she wouldn't ever see her again because she
would be so far away. Apparently the party dress code called for velvet
dresses because when I suggested a different dress for her to wear, she
replied, "The other dresses are not SUITABLE for the party."

Paige is talking

So in the last month, Paige's vocabulary has exploded! She loves to
walk around naming things she sees and repeats everything you say. She
also has a new love for books (she could listen to me read all day).
Here are some particularly cute things she says:
Every time SHE sneezes, she says, "Bless you."
When she wants to sit on the window bench and watch out the window, she
will say, "Birds" meaning she is ready to watch for birds.
She names certain colors and her favorite is "Oranges"
She is beginning to tell us when she has gone to the bathroom (potty
training by age 2 !?!)
All bread is referred to as "Bun."
She is finally saying her sister's name--"Kie-ee"
She is beginning to say me and mine.
She has started saying 2 word sentences.
She is really working hard to communicate and when we don't understand
something, she will try to say it another way--such a smart girl!
