Paige

Paige's vocabulary at almost 15 months has been growing by leaps and
bounds. She loves to imitate sounds and words and is particularly
interested in animals and their sounds. For the past month or so, every
animal she saw said, "Mooo!" This last week it finally started to
register that different animals make different sounds. She now does the
appropriate sound for a horse, chicken, and sometimes cat. All other
animals still say, "Mooo!", but we are making progress.

Paige has also learned the word, "No!" and says it with much authority.

Chloe's latest

Chloe has been talking about getting her ears pierced for some time.
When she was three, she decided that when she was four--that was when
she would be ready for her ear piercing endeavor. Her fourth birthday
came and went, and anxious to get her earrings, she began questioning me
about how it feels to get them pierced. I told her that it was a lot
like getting a shot, it hurts for just a minute but then it is done and
doesn't hurt anymore. She seemed okay with that until she had her 4
year check up at the dr. and had to get three immunizations. On the car
ride home from the dr.'s visit, she announced, "Mommy, I think that
getting your ears pierced is something that a five or six year old
should do."

Chloe had diarrhea last week--the first time since she was an infant.
Because this was the first time she could actually verbalize the
experience, it went something like this. "Mommy! Mommy come quick! I
have splatter poo!" She was very upset that her poo wasn't in "lines."
When you think about it, it really sounds gross but is a very accurate
description.
