chloe funnies

Chloe watches very little TV. In fact, if she watches 2 hours a month,
that is a lot. When she does see the TV it is on PBS. The bottom line
is, that she watches NO commercials. You can imagine my surprise this
morning when she said, "I like watching sports on TV..especially with my
daddy. I also like watching commercials." When I asked her what she
liked about the commercials, she told me, "You can watch them and then
buy stuff all day long." A pretty clear statement about the power of
the media.

Yesterday Chloe was driving around in her little car and she pulled up
to the oven like a drive through. She ordered, "A pad Thai wrap and
chicken a la king." I can't think of where she would have heard of
either of these dishes. She then proceeded to drive around to me so
that she could pay. She asked for her total and when I gave her pretend
change, she pulled out her pretend ash tray to put it in there--just
like mommy and daddy do.

update on the girls

Wow! It has been a long time since my last blog. Paige has accelerated
(literally) by leaps and bounds. She has discovered how to crawl and
pull herself up to a stand. She does a funky little hop crawl
thing--uses one knee on the ground while she pushes off with her other
leg never letting that knee touch. She has gotten pretty fast! Just
today, she was chasing Chloe around the house. Chloe was in heaven.
Paige has also begun to self feed some little puff snacks. She loves
them and will grunt until you give them to her on her high chair. Once
she sees them there, her hand springs into action to quickly grab them
and her eyes light up with delight. I think she likes the fact that she
can feed herself as much as the taste of them.

Chloe is up to her usual tricks. She is always pretending to be some
character from a book or a movie. This week she has adopted a British
accent after watching Peter Pan 2. She goes around saying she is Wendy
speaking with a delicious accent--too much. She also continues to sing
and make up songs. Today I had her sing a song about the color blue
that she learned in preschool. I was videotaping it when she quickly
changed the words so that the final line of the song was something about
blue underwear at which point she flashed the camera to show that she
was indeed wearing blue panties.
