the latest quips

Here are a few funny scenarios that Chloe has produced over the past few
weeks:
She was on this kick about asking, "Mommy, are you a penis?" This was
okay at our home where we could explain that it was a special body part
etc. etc, but it didn't stop there. While at lunch with a friend and
her daughter at a nice Indian food restarurant (cloth napkins, the
works) Chloe suddenly asks again, "Mommy are you a penis?" She began
repeating the question several times getting louder and louder until all
the tables in the dining area were able to hear her question. Unable to
control our laughter, we only encouraged her behavior. I thought that
was the end of it until two days later at dinner (at home this time) she
asked the same question. I proudly remained calm and went through the
whole boys, body parts, etc. explanation. She thought about this a
minute and said, "Mommy are you a penis, because you are sitting up
straight like one." Needless to say, I lost it again.

When playing with grandpa today, they were imagining that her Jasmine
doll was flying on a magic carpet when she observed, "Magic carpets
don't have seat belts."

She was very excited about all kinds of animals after watching the movie
Babe. She started asking about having a pet and we started to talk
about responsibility for a pet etc. We finally got around to talking
about pets later that evening when her daddy came home. We asked her
what kind of pet she would like. She promptly responded, "A piggie!"

She has been very aware of people riding bicycles or motorcycles without
helmets always commenting that they shouldn't be riding them without
wearing a helmet because it is so dangerous. She one day commented that
it was okay for teenagers to wear hats though.

Books and more books

Chloe has uncovered a new found love for the Berenstain Bears books
(http://www.berenstainbears.com/). He favorite of the last few weeks
are the Bear Detectives and the Bear Scouts. She loves to laugh at
that silly poppa bear.
